The Photography group usually meets on the second Monday and fourth Monday of the month from 10.30am - 12.00pm. Some meetings involve trips out whilst others are held at the Notcutts Rivendell Garden Centre café, Mill Lane, Widnes, WA8 3UL. There is no cost involved for the review meetings at Rivendell, just the cup of coffee! Costs are involved on our trips out, which are met by each member.
The Photography Group has joint Group Leaders Maurice and Simon. For more information or if you have any questions please contact Maurice by clicking on the blue link above.
The U3A Photography Group is a small, lively and welcoming group who are eager to improve their skills. Some members are relatively new to photography, others quite experienced, but everybody is willing to share knowledge and help others to develop. The usual format for the group is a trip out and on the subsequent meeting a review to discuss the images produced. This is done in a friendly, informal and non-critical way and is a very useful process in helping people improve their work.
So far places visited have included Liverpool Cathedral, Liverpool Radio City Tower, Port Sunlight, Bodnant Gardens, Trentham Gardens, Llandudno, Chester Zoo, the Anderton Lift and Lyme Park, Stockport, the Wat Phra Singh Buddhist Temple in Runcorn and a trip to Manchester to capture images of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Although all members are keen photographers there is a definite emphasis on having a good time while learning a little more about photography. Good food is always an essential component of days out. A camera isn't strictly necessary - a smart phone will do.
Please check in advance before attending a meeting especially if you are new to the group.
